IIT-Bhubaneswar to increase intake capacity to 260
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar has decided to increase its intake capacityfrom 180 to 260 from the next academic session beginning in July this year.
“Every year, about 180 B.Tech students pass out from the institute. However, from July onwards, the intake capacity will be enhanced by 30 percent to 260,” IIT-Bhubaneswar director R.V. Rajkumar said on the sidelines of the eighth foundation day celebration the institute at Argul, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, on Friday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik attended the foundation ceremony.
He advised the IITians strive to put more efforts in their chosen field for the benefit of the common people.
He said Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar envisages evolving into a global institute in science and engineering, offering students a broad-based and flexible curriculum with a distinct global perspective.
